What it means in practice
Cover you can actually use
In writing, from day one
Your warranty terms arrive with your order pack — what is covered, for how long, and exactly how to make a claim. No grey areas.
One point of contact
Any issue, one message or call — straight to VeltHaven, not an outsourced call centre. We coordinate the fix, including the appliance manufacturers' own warranties where they apply.
On top of your rights
The warranty sits alongside — never instead of — your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. All terms do not affect your rights.
VeltHaven warranties are self-backed by VeltHaven Ltd (Companies House 17261887).
Our warranty covers the building — it doesn't replace your home insurance. When your building is installed, let your home insurer know about your new outbuilding and anything valuable you'll keep in it.
Warranty questions
Frequently asked
What is and is not covered?
Your full warranty terms are provided in writing with your order pack. They cover defects in materials, workmanship, fit and finish within the respective periods. Typical exclusions include fair wear and tear, natural weathering, customer-arranged groundwork, damage from misuse or unauthorised modification, and consumables. For complete terms, refer to your order documentation.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell my house?
Yes. The warranty is attached to the building and the property. Contact us in writing with the new owner's details within 30 days of the sale, quoting the original order reference, and we will issue updated warranty documentation for the remainder of the cover period. This does not affect your statutory rights.
How do I make a claim?
Contact us by email or call 07400 096372 with your order reference and a description of the issue. We aim to respond within two business days and will arrange inspection and repair or replacement at no cost to you if the defect is covered. For equipment issues (heat pump, EV charger, security system, garage door motor), we can also direct you to the relevant manufacturer support channel.
The detail
The warranty in full
Plain English, in writing with your order. Your warranty period begins on the day the last scheduled visit in your order is complete and your building is handed over. If you order extras after handover, that later work does not restart or extend the warranty on your building — the equipment carries its own manufacturer warranty from the date it is installed, and we pass that documentation to you.
What the full warranty covers (the first 2 years)
During the full warranty period we will repair or, where necessary, replace any part of your building that proves faulty due to a manufacturing or workmanship defect, at no cost to you. This covers the structure and frame; cladding, roof and weatherproofing; doors, windows and their seals; insulation and internal finishes; and any electrical or lighting work carried out by VeltHaven as part of your build (the components themselves carry their own manufacturer warranties).
Structural cover (years 3 to 10 — garages & garden rooms)
After the first 2 years and to the end of year 10, your garage or garden room is covered against structural defects — faults in the primary structure, frame, panels, roof and the garage door leaf, and failures in the structure's weatherproofing integrity, caused by a manufacturing or workmanship defect. Structural cover in years 3–10 does not extend to cosmetic items, wear and tear, perishable seals and gaskets, moving parts (including door springs, rollers and tracks), finishes or appliances. The garage door automation motor is not included in structural cover; it carries the manufacturer's standard factory warranty, passed through to you.
Equipment and add-ons
Supplied equipment and add-ons — the garage door automation motor, the Smart Security system, the Daikin Perfera heat pump, the myenergi Zappi EV charger and any other installed equipment — are covered by their own manufacturer warranty, not the VeltHaven Structural Warranty. We register these where required, pass on the documentation, and help you deal with the manufacturer if a fault arises.
What is not covered
- Normal wear and tear, natural weathering and minor colour change over time
- Damage from misuse, neglect, or not following our care and maintenance guidance
- Damage from modifications, repairs or additions made without our written approval
- Accidental damage, vandalism or impact
- Extreme weather, storm, flood, fire or events beyond the building’s normal design conditions
- Ground movement, subsidence, or problems caused by a base not supplied by VeltHaven or not prepared to our specification
- Use for a purpose the building was not designed for; consumables and routine adjustments; cosmetic marks that do not affect performance
Looking after your building
To keep your warranty valid, give your building reasonable care: keep it clean and keep gutters, drainage and ventilation clear; carry out simple periodic checks; do not make structural alterations or attach heavy or unapproved fixtures without our written agreement. We provide aftercare guidance in your handover pack.
How to make a claim
Contact us by email or call 07400 096372 with your order reference (VH-ORDER-####), a description of the issue and clear photographs. We acknowledge your claim and respond with next steps within 2 business days. If the claim is covered, we arrange a repair or replacement at no cost to you; we may inspect the building or ask for further photographs first.
Transferring your warranty
Your warranty is transferable. If you sell your property, the remaining warranty can pass to the new owner, provided you or they notify us in writing within 30 days of the sale, quoting the original order reference and the new owner’s details. The terms, period and exclusions stay the same.
