Delivery & Installation

Last updated: 2026-06-13

These Installation Terms explain how delivery and installation of your VeltHaven building work — what we do, what you need to have ready, and what happens if a site isn't ready on the day. They form part of your contract with us and should be read with our Sales Terms & Conditions and Warranty & Aftercare Policy. Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1. Delivery and installation are included

Delivery and installation of your building are included in your price. Your building is typically delivered and installed in a day, including fitting doors, windows, guttering, and anchoring it to your prepared base.

Included as standard:

  • delivery to your site and installation of the building;
  • anchoring the building to your prepared, level base;
  • any electrical fit-out you have ordered, including Part P electrical certification;
  • electrical connection to your supply within approximately 15 metres of the building; and
  • a confirmed installation date once your deposit is paid and we have your site photos.

2. Your base (foundation)

Every VeltHaven building needs a suitable, level base of the correct size, ready before your installation date. Preparing the base is your responsibility unless you add our managed groundwork service (section 4).

  • We provide the exact base dimensions and specification once your order is confirmed — please don't lay a base before then, or confirm the dimensions with us first so nothing has to be redone.
  • The correct base is specified for your site — typically a reinforced concrete slab or strip footing, or ground screws where suitable (fast, no curing time, suit slopes). A concrete slab needs about 5–7 days to cure before installation and is the right foundation if you plan to add a resin floor later.
  • The base must be level, the correct size, and have adequate drainage. On very soft or waterlogged ground a concrete slab may be required.

If the base is not ready, not level, or not the correct size on the installation day, the installation may be unable to proceed. In that case we will reschedule, and reasonable costs for the aborted visit and a return visit may apply. Any remedial work needed will be quoted before it is carried out.

3. What you need to have ready

Before the installers arrive, please ensure:

  • the base is prepared to our specification (section 2);
  • there is safe, suitable access for our delivery vehicle and team — adequate road width, turning space, gateways and clearances — and a clear working area around the base;
  • pets and children can be kept clear of the working area for safety;
  • a standard mains power point is available for the installers' tools during installation, where reasonably possible; and
  • where electrics are being connected, a connection point is available within ~15 m.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the site information and photographs you give us, and for telling us about any access restrictions in advance.

4. Managed groundwork (optional add-on)

Would you rather not arrange a groundworks contractor yourself? We can coordinate site preparation as part of your build, so the base is ready before installation day and you deal with one company throughout.

Managed groundwork is priced individually after we review your site photos — it depends on access, ground conditions, the size of your building, and whether ground screws or concrete is the right choice. We always quote before you commit.

5. Non-standard site works

Standard sites — level ground, normal access, no unusual drainage — are covered by your build price. The following are not included and, if needed, are quoted separately and agreed before manufacture begins:

  • the prepared base or concrete slab itself (unless you add managed groundwork);
  • excavation, levelling, or drainage works;
  • electrical runs longer than ~15 m, or trenching;
  • non-standard or restricted site access; and
  • plumbing, water or drainage connections.

We quote any non-standard extras from the three site photos you send after checkout. You decide whether to proceed. If you choose not to, you may cancel for a full refund of your deposit at any time before you pay your balance (see our Deposit & Cancellation Policy).

6. Timescales

We plan your project in stages and give you estimated windows for each — not guaranteed dates. As a guide:

  • Lead time (from order to installation): typically 2–6 weeks, depending on your specification and our production schedule.
  • Groundwork / base: the most variable stage. Ground screws can usually be installed in around a day; a concrete base takes about a week, including the curing time needed before we can build on it.
  • Building installation (once your base is ready): a garage typically takes 1–2 days; a garden room a little longer (floor build, glazing and finishing) — all weather permitting.
  • Electrical, security and other extras: these are usually carried out at a separate, scheduled visit after your building is installed.

Timings can be affected by weather, ground or access conditions, base curing, how quickly your base is ready, and other events outside our reasonable control. If anything affects your dates, we'll keep you informed and rearrange as quickly as we reasonably can.

7. Health and safety

The safety of the installers and your household matters. We will carry out installation safely and to a good standard. We may pause or postpone installation if the site is unsafe, the base is unsuitable, access is unsafe, or weather makes safe working impossible. We will explain why and agree next steps with you.

8. Utilities and connections

  • Electrical fit-out you have ordered includes Part P certification and connection to your supply within ~15 m of the building.
  • Longer electrical runs, trenching, and any plumbing, water or drainage connections are not included and are quoted separately (section 5).
  • Arranging the underlying utility supply to the vicinity of the building (for example, having a suitable power source available) is your responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing.

9. Completion and handover

When installation is complete, we'll hand over your building together with your aftercare guidance and any manufacturer documentation for appliances. Your warranty period begins on the date installation is completed — see our Warranty & Aftercare Policy.
